Referring a Patient to Dr. Baldwin

Dr. Baldwin welcomes referrals from family physicians, nurse practitioners, dentists, and physiotherapists. This page outlines what she treats, when to refer, and how - and what you can expect back.

What She Treats

What Falls Outside This Practice

So referrals reach the right service without delay, please note what Dr. Baldwin does not provide:

In short: please refer for a specific, treatable symptom - not for a diagnostic work-up of hypermobility, EDS, or their associated conditions.

When to Refer

Common reasons colleagues refer include: bruxism or TMJ pain that would benefit from masseter treatment; chronic migraine for preventive management including Botox and CGRP-targeted therapies; focal hyperhidrosis; treatment-resistant acne, rosacea, or eczema; suspicious or uncertain skin lesions; benign lesions for removal; and symptomatic keloids. If you are unsure whether something is a fit, an assessment is a reasonable referral in itself.

How to Refer

Medical (MSP-covered) concerns - skin conditions, lesion checks and removal, keloid injections - are seen by referral. Send a referral by letter or fax to either clinic:

Therapeutic Botox consultations (TMJ, migraine, hyperhidrosis) do not require a referral - patients can book directly, and the Victoria clinic offers online booking. You are welcome to refer, or simply to let a patient know they can self-refer.

What You'll Receive Back

You will receive a note summarizing the assessment and plan for any patient you refer, so the care stays connected. Where a patient is better served by another route - their own dentist for a night guard, physiotherapy, or onward specialist referral - that is arranged and communicated rather than kept in-house.
